Strong, beautiful crowns crafted with experience.

At Marton Dental Practice, we believe every tooth deserves a second chance. Our experienced clinical team combines advanced training with a meticulous eye for detail to restore damaged or weakened teeth with crowns that are both durable and natural-looking.

What is a dental crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth – restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. Crowns are also used after root canal treatment, to support a dental bridge, or to repair a tooth following injury.

What are crowns made of?

Our crowns are crafted from high-quality materials for durability and aesthetics, including:

  • Porcelain: The most popular choice for its natural look and ability to mimic the translucency of real teeth.
  • Zirconia: Ultra-strong, highly aesthetic, and ideal for both front and back teeth.
  • Precious metal (e.g. Gold): Exceptionally durable – sometimes used for back molars or for patients with specific needs.

We’ll help you choose the material that’s best for your tooth and your smile.

Treatment Timeline

Step 1

First appointment

Your dentist will gently remove any decay or damage and shape the tooth for your new crown. We use digital 3D scanning to take highly accurate impressions, then fit a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

Step 2

Laboratory crafting

Your crown is custom-made at our trusted private dental lab, designed to match the colour, shape, and bite of your natural teeth.

Step 3

Second appointment

Once your crown is ready (usually within two weeks), we’ll fit it precisely and make any final adjustments before securely cementing it in place.
