Jody Bennett

Treatment Coordinator

NVQ L3 Dental Nursing & VRQ L3 Dental Nursing (City & Guilds 2012) GDC Number: 226511

Jody Bennett began her career in dentistry as a trainee dental nurse in 2010, gaining extensive experience across a number of practices before finding her home at Marton Dental Practice in 2019. With her clinical background and natural people skills, she has become an essential part of the patient journey as our Treatment Coordinator.

Jody is often one of the first friendly faces you’ll meet when you’re considering treatment—especially for more complex or aesthetic plans. She plays a key role in making the journey for our implant, Invisalign, smile makeover, composite veneer, and complex restorative patients as smooth and stress-free as possible.

To support this, Jody has completed a rigorous Level 4 Treatment Coordinator course, giving her advanced training in patient communication, treatment planning, and coordination. She also works very closely with our implant and cosmetic dentists and has been involved in hundreds of advanced cases, so she understands these treatments inside out.

One of the things that makes Jody’s role unique is that she still nurses and sits in on many of the more complex procedures for the patients she has guided. This means the advice she gives at the initial consultation isn’t just theoretical—it’s based on first-hand experience of how these treatments work in real life, from start to finish.

What Jody Does for Patients

The initial consultation with Jody is a genuinely different experience. It’s not just about handing over leaflets or listing options; it’s about helping you understand:

  • Which treatments might be right for you—and why.
  • The pros and cons of different approaches (for example, implants vs bridges, Invisalign vs other options).
  • What to expect at each stage of your treatment journey.
  • How your treatment can be planned around your lifestyle and budget.

She is particularly good at helping patients who aren’t quite sure what they need, or who feel overwhelmed by choice. Jody takes the time to listen, ask the right questions, and then explain clearly—without jargon—so you can make confident, informed decisions about your care.

She helps to:

  • Explain treatment options in clear, simple language.
  • Coordinate appointments and plan treatment timelines.
  • Discuss fees, payment options, and finance where appropriate.
  • Keep you updated and supported throughout longer treatment plans.
  • Provide a consistent point of contact so you always know who to turn to with questions.

On top of this, Jody is also a qualified Oral Health Educator, able to give tailored advice on home care to help you look after your teeth and gums before, during, and after treatment.

Outside the Practice

Outside of work, Jody loves spending time with her husband and two daughters, staying active at the gym, and enjoying social outings with friends. Her upbeat, approachable personality and genuine interest in people shine through in everything she does—both in and out of the practice.

If you’re thinking about starting a more complex or cosmetic treatment journey at Marton Dental Practice, Jody will be there to make the process as clear, organised, and comfortable as possible from the very first conversation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often should I get a check-up?

At Marton Dental Practice, regular dental check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral health. While the exact frequency may vary depending on individual needs, routine dentist and hygienist visits are part of your preventive armour against dental infections and gum disease. For most people, check-ups are recommended every 6 months, though patients at higher risk may be advised to come in more frequently.

Why are my teeth sensitive?

Tooth sensitivity can be caused by several factors, including:

  • Dental infections or decay reaching the inner layers of the tooth.
  • Gum recession exposing the tooth’s dentine (a weaker layer than enamel).
  • Cracked or chipped teeth.
  • Worn fillings or enamel erosion.

If you’re experiencing sensitivity, it could also be a sign of underlying gum disease or the early stages of a dental infection that may require attention, such as a root canal treatment if left untreated.

How do I whiten my teeth?

Marton Dental Practice offers professional at-home teeth whitening using White Dental Beauty products. This treatment involves:

  • Custom-made whitening trays based on 3D digital scans.
  • Dentist-supervised application of a safe, vegan-friendly whitening gel.
  • Wear time as short as 30 minutes per day.

The process is non-invasive, gentle on sensitive teeth, and results can last for years with good maintenance.

Why are my gums bleeding?

Bleeding gums are often a sign of gum disease, caused by the build-up of plaque and tartar. If left untreated, this can progress to serious gum damage, tooth loss, and even systemic health issues like cardiovascular disease.

Marton Dental’s hygienists offer:

  • Scale and polish treatments to remove plaque.
  • Deep cleaning below the gumline to close gum pockets.
  • Tailored advice for ongoing gum maintenance.

Early treatment can reverse gum disease and prevent more invasive procedures later.
